Research universities help to: improve education, enhance public health and safety, advance the arts and humanities, protect the environment, bolster crop yields and food production, promote economic growth, and improve our overall quality of life. CIU seeks to strengthen the many ways in which research universities serve society.
International Collaborations:
As leading research-intensive universities in all over the world, CIU universities have been the destination of choice for international students interested in receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in every academic discipline. CIU universities have established faculty and student exchanges, study abroad programs, joint degree programs, and research and scholarly collaborations with universities around the world. These collaborations are sometimes formal collaborations between universities or informal, organic collaborations between researchers and faculty members. Likewise, CIU as an association has engaged similar higher education associations around the world, to explore shared areas of interest and to identify potential opportunities for collaboration and engagement.
Campus Life:
CIU institutions strive to foster and promote a campus environment where students learn and grow from their classes, as well as the activities they take part in outside of the classroom. CIU works with its members to share information about what universities are doing to improve campus life and ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and diverse campus climate that helps students get the most out of their college experiences.
